I don't think I've ever worked on a deal as hard as this one was but at long last, it has come together. Not as cheaply as I had originally hoped, but it is THE jacket I had envisioned and the quality is OUTSTANDING.

Here is some ad copy I put together, but be sure you read the entire thread!

The hashmarks shown in the above photo are from one of our earlier test jackets. The actual hashmarks are now sewn as shown below.

OK, so $475 for a quality jacket that retails for $595 ain't bad. Even better when you consider these are CUSTOM jackets, each one made individually to order, and would normally retail for $695.

But... if we can get just 6 members that want one of these, we can get them for just $400 each plus $10 shipping. This is a one-time introductory deal that the vendor (Mad House Marketing) won't allow us to repeat again so if you want in on it, now is the time.

I have one of these jackets and I'm ordering another one for Patti. The quality of material and workmanship is the best I've seen, and I've seen a bunch in the last few months, believe me. Keep in mind these are GM licensed, too.

I'm just looking for a virtual show of hands right now. If it looks like we might have 6 or more, then I'll send you a form to fill out with your measurements and interior lining color choice, and ask you to send in your check. Only then will we place the Group Purchase order.

These are custom made jackets, not off the rack, so no returns are allowed unless defective and I seriously doubt that will be a problem. :P

I wouldn't offer them to you unless I was happy with them and it took this long to get the design just right. So, what do you think???

They look sweet, but that price is a little rich for my blood right now.

I well understand, Jason. It IS a lot of money but this is the best I could do for a quality custom jacket.

You might want to check the other thread on the "Class Act" leather jacket deal.

OK, that's TWO so far. We need four more to set up the GP at this price.

Who else wants one?

I just heard from Jess Billings #495. He wants one of these so we're now up to 3. Who else wants in?

Also found out from the vendor that he now wants $25 extra if you want the red satin interior lining instead of the standard black. Great, one more miscommunication (I told you this deal had not been easy!). These jackets are expensive enough though so if anyone in the Group Purchase wants red lining, the GSR will eat the additional cost.

That's great, Terry.

Tom Helmeke #966 just emailed me and he wants one as well, so that puts us at 4 or 5 on the want list so far. We're getting there!

---

This has been such a difficult deal to arrange! If the jackets weren't so cool looking and well made, I'd have dropped it long ago.

Spoke to the vendor again yesterday and he says, "Oh, you want to offer a choice of inside liner colors???"

Well... yeah.

He's going to charge an extra $25 if you want RED. But don't sweat it. For those that want red the GSR will subsidize the additional cost for this Group Purchase deal to keep the member cost to $400.

Hutch,

You have done an absolutely outstanding job on the jackets! I've been saving my "allowance" for this :D so I DEFINITELY want the PRIMO blue leather jacket. That should make at least the 6 you need. Just tell me when you need the $. My wife said that this would be like "wearing your car" and I said "yea, so what do you expect from a Grand Sport owner.

Again, GREAT JOB.

Very good, Milo. Yep, that should make our minimum 6. We'll give it a few more days to give everyone a chance but in the meantime, all those that want in on this Group Purchase need to do this...

Send me an email with:
-- your jacket size (S, M, L, XL, XXL, XXXL)
-- interior lining preference (red or black)
-- shipping address
-- contact phone number

I will confirm with each of you one last time before we place the order. When we do I'll let you know and how long to expect before they will ship. Keep in mind these are each custom made, not off-the-rack, so it might take up to 8 weeks.

Last chance! Who else wants in on this deal?

OK, change 22...

When we finally close this Group Purchase, do NOT send the GSR any money.

Instead, I will touch base with each of you to verify you definitely want in. Then I will contact the vendor, give him the names of the GSR Members participating in the Group Purchase, and then ask each of YOU to contact the vendor individually.

This way he can get your exact size requirements, your interior lining color, arrange any special (extra-cost) options you may want, arrange your payment via major credit card, and answer any of your questions directly. This is important since these exquisite jackets are custom made and will not be returnable.

There may also have been some conufsion on the price. The price for the Ultimate (blue and white) jacket in this GROUP PURCHASE only is $400 + $10 shipping. After the GP, the price will revert to the higher levels shown above.

I want to close this GP in a few days so if you are considering getting in on the deal, you need to do so quickly. I own one of these jackets so if you have a question, feel free to contact me. I assure you they really are nice. I wouldn't offer them to you otherwise.

Nice jacket!, just a tad "pricey" for lowly non GSR members like myself... :o I know, I know, if I join the price difference pays for itself, right? Unless you are suggesting $400 for me too, in which case, I am in... :D

Hutch,
Just saw your latest post regarding payment and ordering. That being the case and since I can't get my last email to you back, consider this my updated response. I'll hold my check until I hear further from you or the vendor. I just can't believe there are so few takers at this intro price. You won't find better than this and since many GS owners are multi Corvette owners, I know you are looking for places to spend those big bucks :D Anyway, thanks again, Hutch, for all your hard work on this project. You really did good!!

Just go ahead and join up - try it you'll like it. See, Mikey likes it. :D

Just kidding with you. But seriously, you should join GSR. Every additional member makes the club stronger and gives more leverage to club activities and purchases.

Denney -- What Milo said! Actually, for this GP, you can get in on it for the $410 price. After that, the member/non-member prices kick in.

Milo -- No sweat. Sorry for the confusion. I'll be in touch soon.

Everyone else -- LAST CHANCE! We're going to close down this GP soon so folks can order their jackets before the weather warms up again.

Let me know ASAP if you want in then we'll close the deal and I'll contact each of you individually.
