I've seen in a number of ads for Grand Sports (eBay or elsewhere) that note that their GS is unique based on options selected. Anybody know how many of these "unique" GSs there are of the total 1000? Seems to me like there might be quite a few given the number times I've seen this.

The "Uniqueness" claim derives from a feature of the Grand Sport RPO/VIN Database which is available to all paid members of the Grand Sport Registry. By entering a car's VIN #, the database searches its records and returns how many other '96 Grand Sports were equipped exactly like that one, including all possible RPO's (even the obscure ones).
While I don't know how many qualify for the "One of One" claim (that would be a good exercise someday), there are bound to be quite a few given there are about 123 distinct RPO codes to choose from for the '96 model year.
It is a totally legit claim, of course, but does it add any real monetary value to the car? Not necessarily, but it does offer some pretty cool bragging rights which was the whole intent all along.
