After reading here and on several other forums, I expected to get about 11 or 12K on the Goodyear tires on a 2010 Grand Sport.. I got 7900! Annoyed to say the least.

I contacted Goodyear cust service and explained the problem, Fronts gone, rears still @ 50%. No alignment or inflation wear on the tires.

Surprise! Goodyear agreed to replace the fronts at 20%. They used a 40k mile basis for the replacement!

I have found it interesting on reports of abnormal tire wear on the new 2010- Grand Sports etc. I checked with the Tire Rack web site and found that the original Goodyear Run Flat tires on the G.S. come from the factory with only 8/32" tread NEW!! I was under the impression that most new tires come with at least 10 -11/32" , but perhaps not Hi Performance tires??? I currently have 4400 miles on my 2010 G.S. Conv. and measured the tread depth this past weekend and found that I have just a slight under 7/32" across both rear tires. I remember talking to a Goodyear dealer in Fl. in 2008 just after I had bought a used '07 Vette conv. from a dealer in Tarpon Springs, Fl. with 12K miles and the rears had 5-6/32' left on the original tires. He told me that Goodyear Run Flats get about 12-15K in Fl. due to the heat and that they add crushed sea shells to the asphalt mix (very abrasive) down there. I told him that I just sold a '01 with 21K miles with the original rear tires still having 6-7/32" left. But, I live in Ohio too!!! Worth discussing - BUY MICHELIN!! 10GS10007

Don't feel bad. My Goodyears were worn at 7,000 miles. The fronts were 2/32nds and the rears 3/32nds. My frontend had too much camber which hastened the inside wear. I read on Tire Rack others have had similar experiences with only getting 5,000 to 7,500 miles out of these tires. I'm surprised Goodyear would use a 40,000 mile replacement benchmark. Good for you I guess. I ended up putting on Bridgestones as I had good luck with Firestone Firehawks when I had my C5. I have 2,500 miles on them and they are wearing well. Good luck with the Goodyears!

I have a 2010 GS convertible with 7000 miles and the tires are about half worn. When I purchased the car the first thing I had done was to do the alignment. I had it set for 0 degrees toe & camber, although they still wear out a lot more then they should the wear is even all the way across. I don't track the car that is why I set it up this way. The factory settings were way out. My next tires will definately be Bridgestones as I have had good luck with them on other Vettes.
