Hello everyone. I guess you can say I'm a proud new member to this family. My name is Chris and I reside in the western suburbs of Chicago. I own a '96 LT4 that I purchased brand new in the summer of '96. Some say I baby it too much but I do drive it when I can. It only has roughly 3,200 miles but I have taken it to Bloomington, Elkhorn, Route 66 Raceway and Effingham so it's 3,200 enjoyable miles  I hope to converse with a lot of you here. By the way, if anyone knows of a good Corvette Club in my area drop me a line and if you have some time, stop by at Mr. Vain's Vette Emporium.

Chris (FYI - Don't let my plates fool you)

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!! Actually the only thing I did with that photo is blurred the background so that the car is emphasized more. I guess it really makes the car stand out. STGRY1 I'm glad you have the black rims cause I always wanted to know what my car would look like with them on. It looks great! Are those the 5-spoke GS rims?

Just wont to say Hi, My name is Pim, I am from The Netherlands and I'm a Vette-A-Holic.

I own "Roadrunr" my 1988 Z52 Vette for little over 1 year now and it's my first Vette.
I use it as a daily driver all year round and she has 128.xxx miles now.

Posted Image

She is far from original, lots of small mod's

In the future she will be a GS look-A-Like for sure and she will be then 1 of I think 3 GS's in the Netherlands and with a little luck #1 GS vert. or I could put a Black GS stripe on like -=Jeff=- did, but need front and rear bumpers first (it's a money thing)

She has GS 13" front brake setup and I'm told it's real GS :P

I also am the owner/web master of http://corvette-cars.nl and as you can see there, I love the GS.
So if any of you real GS owners would give me the honor to enter your GS at the registry I would be very happy.

God Bless,

Pim ;)

Hi Pim, and welcome to the GSR Forum. Glad to have you with us! While you are more than welcome here, keep in mind that GSR Membership is open to all, not just Grand Sport owners.

"Roadrunr" is a nice looking ride. Of course, ANY Corvette looks better with HASHMARKS, right? ;)

Check out our "Where in the world is your GS" map at

http://www.grandspor..._map_GS-695.jpg

which shows the location of all 1996 Grand Sports worldwide (that we know of).

And hey... that is a GREAT looking web site you have there! Very nicely laid out and I like your C4 registry format, too. I might want to borrow some of your ideas for use on the GSR web site, if that is OK.

All the best!

Hi John,

Thanks for the welcome.

I agree 100% on "ANY Corvette looks better with HASH MARKS"

What I do know about GS in the Netherlands is this:
1 Grand Sport Coupe look-A-Like on the road
1 Grand Sport Coupe look-A-Like damaged beyond repair
(I have her GS side vender emblems here)
and there is talk of a Grand Sport Convertible but know one knows for sure.

Sure you can use some, after you registered your GS at the site  it would be an honor, let me know what and if I can help.

EDIT: thank you both, you are GS #1 and #2 in my list ;)
(list is updated)

O, and btw look at my Die Cast collection, lots of 1:18 GS's there.

 :P

Pim

Sorry it took me so long to reply, must have missed this one. :P These are repo GS wheels. They are an awesome wheel for the price I paid. I think it makes the car really stand out. Let me know if you go that route and I'll share with you more in-depth. ;)

Hutch, Rather new at this forum but my fiance and I are the new owners of 875. I met you at the Orlando show and this car is a beauty. Now between the both of us we own 4 vettes. The GS will be a very special car as all of them are. Guess we will be building another garage. Look forward to meeting other GS owners.

Glad to see you here, Lyn, and congratulations to you and Richard on the acquisition of #875. And what a gorgeous car it is! :P

So, are you the "computer literate" one of the two?

I assigned Richard a GSR Forum username (GS875) already. Unfortunately, a username can only be assigned to one person. Let me know if you want it changed.

Enjoy that GS! ;)

Hutch,

Thanks I will tell Richard. Well we both are computer literate I just have more time to spend on it and since I am a librarian I tend to find stuff like stuff on this site quicker than he does. I think he would like to keep theGSR username I will show him this part of the site when I can.

Dont worry we will have a great time with the GS. It will be delivered today or tomorrow and we are taking it on a Corvette breakfast cruise on Sunday Morning. Richard just wants to show up in it. He is a very proud owner. Well with 4 vettes we should be having alot of fun. We look forward to getting to know the GS folks better. Lynette

Hello all!
I am new to the GSR forum, and would just like to say hello! I live in New Jersey, and I am a proud owner of a 1992 Corvette, a Black Rose convertible, automatic. I am a huge fan of the '96 Grand Sports, and hopefully one day would like to be the owner of one! Until then, I can follow, learn more about, (and fantasize about) my favorite Corvette, and maybe I will find that special GS! Thanks for having me on board, and all members have a happy and healthy 2005!

:yesnod:  :)
