Hello Guys and Gals. Corvette Joe from Alaska. I'll be going to Carlile this year and will be looking forward to meeting the GSR members. I've been to Carlile a few times before and always have a great time. My biggest let down is I never have one of my cars at the show. I spend all my time in my shop working on vettes and dont spend enough time driving them. I've been working on the GS repilca now for a year.. I bought it from OJ Hanna. Look in the Grand Sport history book and you'll find his name a few times.. He owned GS # 1 for a few years, way back when. He sold it to Sam Walton senior, if I remember right for $7300. If he only new. Run his name thru Goggle and a story from a newpaper about him will show up. Got to go talk more later. Joe

Yeah that's probably me. I'm actually at the station right now and I'll be getting off at 0745 in the morning so we may not see each other. Have you seen my GS here before?
That is too cool that you come to my station. What a small world. :cya:

Thanks Dan. It's a work in progress. My GS has almost 46,000 miles on it. :cya: I drive it mostly on weekends but occasionally during the week.

Yeh, with so many Grand Sports in the sunshine state of Florida, we ought to be able to hold our own event!

Actually, I did that a few years ago at Roger's Corvette Center in Orlando. We called it "Skunkfest" and while it was originally intended for Grand Sports, ZR-1s, and Callaways, we finally opened it up to all. That event has evolved into the Roger's Cruz'In event which we hold on the last Saturday in October (the 29th this year). Its a great, laid back show with lots of prizes, awards, and entertainment. You should plan to attend, if you can make it. As you might imagine... the GSR sponsors the late C4 class of awards. :flag:

So how about a *real* SKUNKFEST sometime? We could certainly organize one somewhere around Central Florida. Heck, just a drive out to some nice spot for lunch or dinner and an impromptu car show would be cool.

I'm in for it. The hard part is just finding a free weekend to do it! :P
